How to homologate your Baccalaureate degree in Spain

Approving degrees, diplomas or foreign studies of non-university education to continue your training in Barcelona or any other Spanish city is not an easy or fast process. Legal certificates, registration, official diplomas are required … documentation and a procedure that often makes us a mountain. The steps you must follow to validate your degree:

For students with studies completed outside the European Union, the process can take between 4 and 5 months. To start it, the following documentation must be submitted:

• Baccalaureate degree legalized through the corresponding means, either the Hague apostille (certifies the authenticity of the signature of an official document and allows its use in foreign countries) or diplomatic channels.
• Document accrediting the grades of the last 2/3 years of studies depending on the country. The document must also be legalized through the corresponding means, either the Hague apostille or diplomatic channels.
• Census.

Once it has been gathered, we ourselves request an appointment with the Consorci d’Educació, in the case of Catalonia, to present it and thus activate the approval process. At the national level, the responsible institution is the Ministry of Education.

For students with studies carried out within the European Union, the procedure is easier. It is carried out through the National University of Distance Education (UNED) and consists of requesting a credential that allows the student to directly access the University in case of having a sufficient grade. If not, students can only prepare the specific phase of the entrance exam. This procedure, unlike the conventional approval that usually takes 4-5 months, can be done and achieved in fifteen days. As only UNED collaborating entities can process it, at Academia Guiu we directly manage the files of our students to obtain the credential as quickly as possible. The student only has to submit their diploma of studies, the notes of the last years and the certificate of registration.
